mr. d & i adopted miss sadie lou from a local shelter.

she’s a one & half year old boston terrier/beagle mix {i’ve seen “boggle” & “boglen terrier”}

she’s a great dog & sweet as can be… isn’t she cute?

it’s all very exciting as i haven’t been a dog owner since i’ve been an adult.

and i’ve been an adult {well…age-wise anyway} for quite a while.

i just never had the time, space {or landlord approval} whilst dwelling in cityscapes.

now that i’m a mostly-country mouse with the space &  time to love up a dog

miss sadie found us when the moment was right.

her obsession with all things OUTSIDE

helps get my heiny out & away from the art studio & the computer

so it’s a win WIN!

oh i ♥ this amazing installation by artist beth katleman.

it’s a 3-D porcelain sculptural wallpaper called “Folly”

made of cast porcelain, wire, steel rods and heat-shrink tubing.

so clever & whimsical.

i’m always a little sad to send away my little handmade doo-dads.

i put a lot of love & magic into each piece ~ so i get attached to them all!

but yesterday, a customer swooped in and nabbed

the rest of the papier mache snowmen {yay}

so they’re off to a new home…

& thought i’d try doing a homemade stamp out of a wine cork.

making stamps out of wine corks is super-duper easy!

and it’s a whole lot cheaper &  more craftacular

than buying those A$$pensive stampers at craft stores.

i love banners – so i thought i’d do a simple banner design…

all you need:

a design idea, corks, a marker, exacto, some stamper ink {or paint} and notecards…

*

draw your design and carefully cut with exacto…

*

test your stamps a few times to see if you like & to try out the ink saturation…

*

stamp your notecard…

*

add a message if you’d like & viola!

see!? so simple & quick to make your own handmade cards

and your recipient will feel extra special just because you’re so crafty {& thrifty}!
