i think i’ve hit upon a new arty/crafty love…
dioramas…or…story boxes
my SIL has helped her kidlets make them all the time for school
{i don’t remember doing them myself}
so i thought i’d try one out as a gift for my uber-talented step~daughter’s dance recital…
i decoupaged an up-cycled box with vintage music paper
{that was from my own piano lessons back in the day…waaay back}
even the DANCE & DANCING words are cut from the titles of the songs in the piano book.
i fashioned a stage curtain from an re-purposed pillow.
framed the box with stringed sequins and ribbon & embellished with gold metal hearts.
the dancer girl is from an old card i had kept for a million years
{she is attached to a tiny piece of dowel so it looks like she’s dong a jeté from the box frame}
i printed out the Dance Your Heart Out & hand drew the scroll sign…

here’s a view from above…

here’s a sneaky~peek of another story box i’ve started
{but that’s all i can show you as it’s a gift!}
stay tuned!
