earlier this year, i was thrilled to be asked to submit to a new book project  by cicada press

cicada press is a UK publishing company that produces books about art, design, craft & visual ideas.

their new release “The Inspirational Moustache” by ziggy hanaor

is “a humorous survey of the millennial moustache boom”

featuring photographs, illustrations, short, witty texts, a handful of moustache-related craft ideas,

a summary of key moustache styles (pencil, handlebar, walrus, fu manchu, etc),

plus funky visuals of such key cultural moments as *movember*

(november: moustache awareness-raising month),

finger moustaches and of course the world beard and moustache championships.

so my copies arrived the other day!

i sent them a paper-mache mustache-on-a-stick…

easter crafties April 25, 2011

i was inspired by this easter craft feature

in country living magazine

for a little paper mache bird nest…

to make a bird nest easter basket

i used paper bags and vintage music paper

(the recipient is a musician}…

for the basket handle

i wrapped craft wire with newspaper & masking tape

and paper mached with more paper bags

~

another easter craft i whipped up…

bunny face on a stick

i hand~sculpted paper mache pulp,

dried, sanded & painted with acrylic paint.

very cool & i’m happy i could help a little

with their Art Supply Fund for jefferson county public school students

angel wing remembrance February 25, 2011

this is a special project i made to honor a sad time for my family.

for Abigail Grace ~ who was only with us a few days…

angel wing remembrance

{paper mache, acrylic on canvas – with ribbon}

it was very therapeutic to think of the little angel we lost

while creating this piece.

it is important for the loss of a baby or child to be acknowledged and celebrated; to help others remember.

{and i would love to help others create custom memorial/remembrance art pieces}

before ribbon was attached…

{you can have your memorial art piece sit in an easel or hang on the wall}
