Solitude

“I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape – the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter.  Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show.”   ~Andrew Wyeth

“Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.” ~Stanley Horowitz

Leafless tree in solitude –
Remembers the robin.” ~

“A few days ago I walked along the edge of the lake and was treated to the crunch and rustle of leaves with each step I made.  The acoustics of this season are different and all sounds, no matter how hushed, are as crisp as autumn air.” ~Eric Sloane

Denuded now
Of leafage…
But a million stars” ~

Gloomy Days

I ♥ gloomy weather days. I often wonder if I have a reverse SAD {Seasonal Affective Disorder} of sorts as I seem to be more productive, happier and at peace on dreary, overcast weather days.

“Oddly enough I never used to suffer from depression on cold, gray, cloudy days like this. I feel as if nature is in harmony with me, that it reflected my soul.” ~Paulo Coelho

Well, Paulo knows what I’m talking about…

prophet

“Your imagination is the single most important asset you possess. It’s your power to create mental pictures of things that don’t exist yet and that you want to bring into being. It’s the magic wand you use to shape your future. And so in your own way, you are a prophet. You generate countless predictions every day. Your imagination is the source, tirelessly churning out images of what you will be doing later.” ~Rob Brezsny
